A tricky vintage in Bordeaux but still offering some good value, medium bodied wines for early drinking and this second wine from another well-regarded Cru Bourgeois, Château Potensac, is very much in this style. Elegant and classic with real finesse, lovely perfumed fruit, gentle tannins and a fresh finish.
2 x 2012 Le Haut Medoc de Lagrange, Bordeaux, France
The 2012 Vintage is beautifully precise, with a clean, red garnet colour. The nose reveals delicious notes of red fruits, all in freshness with touches of wood and discreet vanilla add complexity. on the palate, a rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Melot aged 12 months in oak with concentrated red berry fruit flavours with a hint of cedarwood and spices. Soft tannins, a good mineral backbone and a lovely lingering finish.
